Thomas Bach of Germany debuted as the new International Olympic Committee president in front of press here on Tuesday disclosing working priorities of his reign.

"The communication between athletes and young people is key in my respect and I have already proposed opening up a dialog with young generation," Bach told the press conference.
He believes the Olympic Youth Games, which is considered one of the most substantial legacy left by his precedent Jacques Rogge, is a wonderful platform connecting Olympic movement and the youths.
"We can use the youths games to get close contact with young athletes," Bach said.
However, this is far behind the new president's "ultimate goal".
"When talking about youth participation, we are not only addressing young people who are already athletes, but also those not in the way," he said.
"It is good if they consume sports, but our ultimate goal is to try to motivate them to participate sports," he added.
Bach also expressed his careful support on the current mechanism on which the Olympic program is decided.
"By looking more at disciplines rather than sports, you could gain more flexibility with regard to the composition of the program Sam Gagner Jersey ," the new president said.
He describes the necessity to control the number of athletes and the number of permanent facilities as two important limitations to Olympic Games.
Taking the two limitations into consideration, "the number of event does not really matter the sustainable development of the movement," he said.
"We can gain more flexibility. However, this has to be developed together with IOC members and the Executive Board," he added.
Mentioned as one of the first Olympic leaders who recognized the threats brought on by sports corruption, the new president also told the press his determination to combat match fixing and manipulation.
"What we have seen in the past shows us very clearly this (sport corruption) is a global phenomenon, and thus we have to address it.
"The fight against match fixing and manipulation has certainly similarities with fight against doping," said Bach.
However, it is even more difficult.
"In doping, you have test machines," the president said. "Unfortunately, there is no test for manipulation and match fixing."
"As a consequence we have to work closely with the government authorities Oliver Ekman-Larsson Jersey ," he added.
The new IOC president proposed a two-stage-effort to combat sports corruption.
"A battle cooperation with police forces is our short term approach to combat match fixing and manipulation, while in long term we will persue the legislation," he said.
Bach was elected as the ninth president of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) here on Tuesday.
The former lawyer, businessman and Olympic champion in fencing at Montreal 1976 Games, has served as Vice-President of IOC since the beginning of this millennium.
