Co-owners Kit Crawford and Gary Erikson knew they wanted Clif Bar to be an organic food company long before they started Nike Air Max Thea Womens Clif in 1993. Growing up in the 60s and 70s when the organic movement was beginning to take shape, both Kit and Gary watched a transformation in their hometown of Fremont, CA. They witnessed fruit tree orchards being replaced by shopping Asics Gel Lyte 5 Womens Pink malls and groves of walnuts flattened for housing developments. Beyond that, the negative effects of chemical pesticides on the health of farmers and the local community were becoming apparent in the Central Valley. All of this stirred up the beginnings of an environmental movement, and Earth Day www.mollybarron.co.uk premiered in the spring of 1970, bringing the first organic foods to the marketplace. Even though Clif wouldnÂ’t become a company until a few decades later, these happenings shaped the way Kit and Gary saw the world, ultimately affecting their desire to create an organic brand.As a food company, we see the connections Nike Air Huarache Femme between food, health and the environment every day. The kind of food we put in our bodies affects our health. They are also working to better the planet as a whole by helping fund organic research and development. Last year, Americans spent $35.9 billion on organic foodÂ… thatÂ’s nearly 5% of US food sales, and in a recent survey, Consumer Reports found that 84% of Americans purchase some Nike Air Max 2016 Womens organic food.
With most of our nationÂ’s agricultural research focused on conventional agriculture (which uses harmful chemicals and synthetic pesticides that cause health and environmental issues), we arenÂ’t making the progress we could be in creating a healthier world. Awareness is rising, demand is Nike Air Max Command Dames risingÂ… and yet research is so far behind. Clif decided to do something about it, initiating a $10 million investment to fund five endowed chairs focused on organic agricultural research. |
