<p>Since the asphalt pavement with low cost, low noise, driving comfort, easy maintenance and other advantages, in recent years, the asphalt pavement has been widely promoted and applied in highway construction. Cracks as one of the common diseases of asphalt pavement has great danger to the pavements, especially in winter and spring. </p>
<P>After cracks appeared , rainwater infiltration along the crack to the grass roots, if not promptly take measures to dispose , repeated traffic load, cracks in the disease state of rapid expansion causing further damage to asphalt pavement and grass-roots, reducing its performance. Therefore, in order to improve pavement quality and reduce the development of diseases,we must take early measures to prevent further damage after asphalt pavement cracks appear.</P>
<h3> 1. Causes and Types of Asphalt Pavement Crack </h3>
<P>Cracks of asphalt pavement is one of the common diseases in express highway, according to the causes, it can be divided into load-type cracks and non-load-type cracks in 2 categories. Load-type cracks is mainly due to ill-designed or road construction reasons, the structural layer is not strength enough, fracture strength can not meet the increasing traffic volume and axle loads generated. Non-load-type cracks mainly in two forms, one is reflected in the base cracking pavement crack formation, another is low-temperature asphalt pavement crack itself.</P>
<P>Depending on the asphalt pavement crack manifestations can be divided into transverse cracks, longitudinal cracks, cracks and crack networks, etc., which are divided into light, medium and heavy three cases based on the edge of the slit width and extent of the damage.</P>
<h3>2. Maintenance craft of sealant melt pouring </h3>
<P>Different types and causes of cracks in asphalt pavement , there are a variety of repair techniques, such as grouting process, the strip repair, pouring melt sealant to repair and other processes. Sealing the cracks timely can reduce rainwater infiltration also effectively reduce asphalt pavement destroyed by water, thereby extending the life of asphalt pavement. Against the detailed of crack, using the melt sealant to joints repair can be refined divided to directly pour the melt joints and slotted crack then pouring melt joints two processes.</P>
<P>The asphalt cracks which use the slotting sealing machine is according to the cracks with less rules and branch cracks, width less than 5mm. Consider the grain size of mixture,the slotting depth should be controlled within 8-15mm,width at 8mm~12mm.The cracks less than 5mm after been slotted, can enlarge the depth of sealant pouring,also can effectively low the leaves caused by high temperature.</P>
